When Gallup performed a poll to determine America’s favorite season of the year, winter came in dead last. Even with such exciting perks as the year’s first snowfall, a brand new hockey season and Christmas holidays, these poor, long and unwanted winter months managed to garnish only a measly 11 percent of the vote.
This is perhaps not too surprising. The thought of abandoning a warm bed in the morning and forcing our bare feet onto a cold floor is enough to entice the best of us to use up a sick day in order to slink back under the covers. Then there’s the drive to work. Nothing can spark a savage bout of road rage like miles of sludge, ice and slowly moving traffic.
All this before we even start the workday, where we are condemned to spending eight hours in a cubicle wedged between a thick winter coat hanging on one wall and a clunky pair of snow boots pressed up against the other. Office calendars cease to be thought of as organizational tools and are used instead for counting down the days until Springtime.
Bring an early Spring to your cubicle this year.
You can coax the Spring into your cubicle a little sooner this year with an amazing melting snowman. Similar to the popular Amazing Growing Christmas Tree, it slowing changes shape over time. It’s mainly made of soft white putty that you mold into the shape of snowballs and use to build the snowman’s body. Then you use the provided accessories to represent the distinguishing features such as the eyes, carrot nose, tree limb arms, buttons, charcoal pipe and top hat. When left at room temperature your new winter creation will slowly melt on your desk and make it seem like Spring is just around the corner, even if it’s not!
The amazing snowman doesn’t actually melt. Instead, the putty softens so much over time that it sinks into itself to form a flat blob and provides the illusion of melting, which actually looks pretty cool. This means that you can not only set up the snowman and watch it melt over and over again, but it will also leave no moisture or residue behind on your desk.
At 3 inches tall it’s a great decoration for the cubicle as it will provide you and your co-workers hours of subtle entertainment and will not get in the way while you work.
Stop settling for Mother Nature to take her own sweet time. Be proactive in your quest to make Springtime hit your cubicle a little bit sooner!
